The Light Rail Transit Authority has received recognition from the Government Quality Management Committee (GMQC) on Tuesday, October 24, 2019,for successfully establishing a Quality Management System (QMS) that is ISO 9001:2015 certified.
In ceremony themed,“QMS Level-Up! Gearing for Future-Ready Public Service”, GMQC gave the recognition to LRTA along with their conduct of Public Sector Quality and Productivity Improvement Forum.
“This certification is a testament of our strong commitment to good governance and excellent service.This signifies that our agency continually seeks for ways to improve our QMS and to intensification of duty in the name of public service,” said Administrator Reynaldo I. Berroya.
The conferment reaffirms that LRTA operates in a system that documents processes, procedures and responsibilities following international standards to achieve its target quality policies and objectives so as to provide a sound basis for sustainable developments initiatives.
LRTA received the ISO Certificate of Registration for Operations and Maintenance Management from Certification International of the Philippines,Inc. (CIP), third-party auditing body, last December 21, 2018. LRTA’s journey towards ISO Quality Management System certification began in the third quarter of 2017, with the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) as its QMS consultant.The certification signified that LRTA met the documentary requirements and surpassed the rigorous stages of audit done on June 4 and June 11, 2018.
LRTA Deputy Administrator Paul Chua received the award at PICC on behalf of LRTA. LRTA thus joins its mother agency,Department of Transportation (DOTr) and its attached agency Office for Transportation Security (OTS) for being acclaimed for having an improved QMS.
