
In celebration of the 47th National Disability Rights Week, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) is offering free rides to all Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), reaffirming its commitment to promoting accessibility and inclusive transportation for all
PWD passengers can avail of the free rides during peak hours-7:00AM to 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM – by simply presenting a valid PWD ID.
This free ride program supports Proclamation No. 597, which designates the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) to oversee the observance of the week-long celebration themed “Innovation for Inclusion: Building Inclusive Communities Together.”
This collaborative effort between the Department of Transportation, LRTA, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s underscores their continuous dedication to accessibility and inclusive communities.
“LRTA remains committed to supporting persons with disabilities through various accessibility initiatives,” said LRTA Administrator Hernando Cabrera. “Beyond this program, we continue to provide dedicated boarding areas and conduct regular training for our station and security personnel to better assist PWD passengers in their daily commutes.”
