The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) is pleased to announce that all commuters will enjoy free rides on LRT Lines 1 and 2, as well as MRT-3, from April 30 to May 3, 2025, in celebration of Labor Day. This four-day “Libreng Sakay” program was initiated by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as a token of appreciation for Filipino workers’ invaluable contributions to the nation’s economy and social development.”

This is a small recognition of the sacrifice and the contribution of our workers not only to our economy but also to our society,” President Marcos stated in his announcement. The Department of Transportation and railway operators are implementing this directive to ensure smooth operations throughout the celebratory period.

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon personally inspected the LRT-2 Recto station on the first day of the “Libreng Sakay” program, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to the successful implementation of this initiative across Metro Manila’s rail systems.

Secretary Dizon highlighted that “this four-day FREE RIDE will benefit approximately 3.5 million passengers who use MRT-3, LRT-1, and LRT-2.”

This Labor Day initiative underscores LRTA’s unwavering commitment to delivering Convenient, Accessible, Safe, Secure and Affordable transportation for all commuters.
