The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) has lowered the Philippine flags at all LRTA Line 1 and Line 2 depots to half-mast as of April 24, 2025, in solidarity with the national mourning period declared by Malacañang following the passing of Pope Francis.
The flags will remain at half-mast until Pope Francis is laid to rest, in keeping with the grieving period established after His Holiness passed away on April 21, 2025.
LRTA stands with the Catholic faithful and all who mourn the loss of the beloved pontiff, acknowledging his profound impact on global peace, compassion, and unity,” stated LRTA Administrator Atty. Hernando T. Cabrera.
As part of this nationwide observance, Philippine flags are being flown at half-staff on all government buildings and installations throughout the country and abroad, from sunrise to sunset, until the day of Pope Francis’s burial.
LRTA joins the nation in prayer and remembrance of Pope Francis and his significant contributions to humanity.
