A total of 28,032 passengers took advantage of the free rides provided by the Light Rail Transit Authority in commemoration of the 83rd Araw ng Kagitingan on April 09.

During the morning peak hours from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, 11,478 commuters benefited from the free rides. In the evening rush period, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, an additional 16,554 passengers enjoyed this offer.

“This free ride is our way of honoring the heroism of our veterans and expressing our gratitude to today’s modern heroes,” stated LRTA Administrator Hernando T. Cabrera.

This initiative served as the LRTA’s tribute to the bravery of Filipino veterans who fought in World War II and as a gesture of appreciation for modern-day heroes who continue to demonstrate valor in their service to fellow Filipinos.
