Following the successful conduct of the training on the Standard Procedure for the Retrieval of Entangled Objects at the Over Head Catenary System (OCS) in 2025, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) continued its capability-building efforts this year under its Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), aimed at ensuring the immediate restoration of normal train operations during OCS-related incidents.
In coordination with the Line 1 and Line 2 Engineering Department, the Human Resource Management Division (HRMD) conducted training sessions on May 4–7, 2026, at the Line 2 Depot, Santolan, Pasig City. The activity was facilitated by MTT OCS Supervisor Ricardo H. Del Rosario, with support from the Safety and Security Division.
Eight (8) batches were conducted, with four (4) hours per batch delivered through morning and afternoon sessions, covering both classroom lectures and practical activities. A total of 131 participants were trained on the proper use of newly acquired hot sticks for the safe and efficient retrieval of entangled objects from the OCS.
This initiative strengthens LRTA’s operational readiness, enabling personnel to respond promptly, minimize service disruptions, and ensure the swift resumption of train operations.
