A total of five (5) personnel from the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) successfully completed the 11th Cycle of the Fundamental Training (FT) Course conducted by the Philippine Railways Institute (PRI) from January 19 to April 21, 2026, held at PRI Training Room, The Columbia Towers, Ortigas Avenue, Mandaluyong City. The Fundamental Training (FT) Course is a structured capacity-building program designed to equip railway personnel with foundational competencies in operations and maintenance. It covers core, departmental, and specialized competencies across various railway disciplines, including Fare and Ticketing Management and Tracks and Guideways Maintenance.

The program emphasizes a safety-first mindset, technical knowledge, and practical application through both classroom instruction and hands-on assessment. The program equipped the participants with essential theoretical knowledge and practical skills to support safe, efficient, and reliable railway operations, including passenger handling, ticket and cash management procedures, and maintenance of railway infrastructure. This initiative forms part of LRTA’s continuing commitment to strengthening the competencies of its personnel in both operations and maintenance, thereby ensuring a highly skilled, competent, and safety-oriented workforce aligned with national railway standards.
