The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) provided free rides to a total of 39,016 passengers on LRT Line 2 on June 12, 2026, in commemoration of the 128th Anniversary of Philippine Independence Day.

The free ride program was offered during peak hours, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, as part of the LRTA’s participation in the nationwide celebration of the country’s freedom and as a gesture of gratitude for the continued patronage and support of LRT Line 2 commuters.

The initiative ensured a safe and comfortable journey for all passengers of LRT Line 2.

The LRTA extends its appreciation to the riding public who took part in this meaningful commemoration. May this initiative serve as a reminder of our unity, love of country, and appreciation for the freedom we enjoy today.
