The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) provided free rides to 23,628 passengers on LRT Line 2 on October 1, 2026, as part of the LRTA participation in the celebration of the 37th National Statistics Month (NSM).

The free ride was offered from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM across the LRT Line 2 system. Passengers were able to avail of the free ride by presenting their National ID to security personnel at the stations.

The LRTA accepted the physical National ID card, printed paper copy, and digital copy of the National ID for verification, allowing more passengers to conveniently participate in the initiative.

This year’s National Statistics Month carries the theme, “Tuklas Pilipinas: Statistics as Beacon Towards Inclusive, Resilient, and Sustainable Tourism,” highlighting the importance of statistics in promoting sustainable tourism and community development.

The initiative reflects the LRTA’s support for the nationwide celebration and its continuing commitment to providing accessible public transportation services to the riding public.
