The Technical Resource Persons from the Train Operations Division is currently conducting the 15-day Non-Commercial Train Driving Training Program for LRTA personnel. Six (6) Maintenance Transition Team (MTT) Light Maintenance Section personnel, along with one (1) Safety Officer, are actively participating in this comprehensive course.
The training provides essential skills for safe train handling during maintenance activities such as dynamic testing, low-speed test in depot stabling/maintenance workshop area and high-speed test in the mainline.
The Non-Commercial Train Driving Training Program is designed to equip Light Maintenance Section personnel of the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) Maintenance Transition Team with the essential knowledge, skills, and competencies required to safely operate LRT2 trains for non-revenue activities. These activities include, but are not limited to, train dynamic testing, depot movements, shunting operations, and equipment testing.
This training provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of train systems, operating procedures, and safety protocols aligned with LRTA standards. Through a combination of classroom instruction, train driving simulation activity, and supervised hands-on driving sessions at depot and revenue line, trainees will gain practical experience in maneuvering trains within controlled environment
