The Mobility, Inclusivity, and Accessibility Committee (MIAC) was created to address issues related to passenger mobility, inclusivity, and accessibility within the LRT Line 1 and Line 2 Systems. Guided by the principles of Batas Pambansa Blg. 344 (Accessibility Law), Republic Act No. 7277 (Magna Carta for Persons with Disability), and Republic Act No. 11313 (Safe Spaces Act or Bawal Bastos Law), MIAC ensures that the needs of persons with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, and other vulnerable sectors are given due attention.
MIAC formulates strategies and recommendations to improve station and train accessibility, promote safe and harassment-free spaces, and uphold inclusivity in all aspects of railway operations. It also conducts regular reviews of facilities, policies, and procedures, collaborates with internal and external partners, prepares reports on a monthly basis, and participates in training and awareness programs that support a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all passengers.
