The Light Rail Transit Authority’s Waste Disposal Committee (WDC), together with its Technical Working Group and Secretariat, successfully carried out major disposal activities of unserviceable properties and assets in line with government transparency and accountability guidelines.
In November 2025, the Committee completed a public auction for unserviceable rails at the Line 1 Depot, Pasay City, with a final appraised value of PHP 1.64 million. The auction process was conducted in full compliance with the Manual on the Disposal of Government Property, ensuring proper valuation and fair competition.

On January 22, 2026, the Committee also led a joint inspection at the MRT-3 Laydown Area, covering dismantled trackworks components from the Unified Grand Central Station Project. Findings confirmed significant deterioration, prompting the scheduling of a public auction in February 2026 to prevent further depreciation and clear space for MRT-3’s ballast replacement project.
These initiatives underscore LRTA’s commitment to efficient asset management, transparency, and adherence to government disposal regulations.
