The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) strengthened the safety readiness of its frontline operations personnel through a Joint Table Top Exercise conducted from July 17 to 26, 2026, focusing on coordinated response, effective communication, and adherence to safety protocols during train operations.

A total of 109 personnel participated in the exercise, composed of 78 Train Drivers, nine Line Dispatchers, and 22 Operations Control Center (OCC) personnel. The activity was conducted through a train simulator to enhance the participants’ ability to respond to safety-critical situations and coordinate appropriate operational actions.

During the exercise, participants practiced operational procedures and safety communication protocols, including immediate reporting to the OCC, confirmation of train status, coordination of appropriate responses, and delivery of clear passenger announcements.

The exercise also provided an opportunity to reinforce coordination among Train Drivers, Line Dispatchers, and OCC personnel, particularly in responding to train faults and other operational situations that may affect train movement and passenger safety.

Through continuous training and simulation exercises, the LRTA remains committed to strengthening the competence and preparedness of its personnel and ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient rail service for the riding public.
