Safe and reliable railway operations remain the priority of the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) as it completed regular safety inspections of stations, depots, and maintenance facilities for May 2026 under the Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP).
The inspections confirmed the condition of structural elements, safety systems, operational equipment, and emergency facilities across the LRT Line 2 system. Trained and qualified personnel carried out the activity in line with established safety standards and regulations.

Fire exits and emergency lighting were verified as clearly marked, unobstructed, and fully functional, particularly during emergencies or power interruptions. Maintenance equipment and other essential operational tools were checked for proper condition, availability, and serviceability. Deficiencies were recorded and addressed through corrective and preventive measures.
Sustained inspections of this kind strengthen the LRTA’s emergency preparedness and reduce the risk of service disruptions, while supporting the safety of passengers, personnel, and railway facilities.
The activity affirms the LRTA’s commitment to safe, reliable, and uninterrupted rail transport services for the riding public.
