The Light Rail Transit Authority recorded a total of 367 volunteers and tournament workforce members who availed the free LRT Line 2 rides from November 12 to December 7 as part of its support for the Philippines’ hosting of the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025.
The free ride initiative comes after collaboration of LRTA with Department of Transportation, The Philippine Football Federation, and Philippine Sports Commission to show support for the historic FIFA event. Free rides were offered from 5:00 AM to 9:30 PM to all accredited volunteers and staff upon presentation of their valid FIFA accreditation passes. The initiative aimed to ease their commute and help ensure smooth tournament operations.
Personnel across all LRT Line 2 stations extended full assistance to volunteers and staff to maintain safe, orderly, and convenient travel throughout the event period.
The free ride initiative reflects the LRTA vision as the leading authority for the construction, operations, and maintenance of LRT systems, enabling safe, comfortable, and sustainable transportation in the Philippines.
