The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) are making National ID services more accessible to the public this August through mobile registration at selected LRT-2 stations and free rides for National ID holders every Wednesday this month.

The initiatives commemorate the anniversary of the signing of Republic Act No. 11055, or the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Act, while bringing essential government services closer to commuters through the LRT-2 system.

Mobile National ID registration will be available at Antipolo Station on August 5, 12, 19, and 26. Meanwhile, passengers may also register at Recto Station daily starting August 5 until the end of the month.

As part of the celebration, National ID holders may enjoy free rides on LRT-2 every Wednesday of August from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. To avail of the free ride, passengers only need to present a valid National ID in any accepted format, whether card, paper, or digital.

Through the partnership, LRTA and PSA aim to promote and make the National ID more accessible to commuters. The initiative is in line with LRTA mission to enhance people mobility and provide an inclusive rail transport system that is responsive to the needs of the commuting public.
