The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross – Marikina Chapter, conducted a Mobile Blood Donation Drive at the LRT Line 2 Marikina–Pasig Station on January 21, 2026. The activity ran from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM and drew participation from daily commuters and LRT employees.

The initiative aimed to replenish critical blood supplies needed by hospitals and medical facilities nationwide. By hosting the drive, LRTA provided an accessible venue for passengers and LRT-2 personnel to contribute to this life-saving advocacy.

LRTA Administrator Hernando T. Cabrera personally visited and observed the conduct of the bloodletting activity. “Conducting bloodletting activity in LRT Line 2 is strategic as there are many passengers who use our train system who want to help and donate blood,” Administrator Cabrera stated. “LRTA will remain active in this kind of initiative that helps save lives of our kababayans,” he added.

The bloodletting activity reflects LRTA’s commitment to humanitarian initiatives and public welfare programs that benefit the Filipino people. The Authority urges the public to continue supporting voluntary blood donation as an accessible and impactful means of saving lives.
