The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) partnered with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) to distribute information materials on the Safe Spaces Act across select LRT Line 2 stations on November 18, 2025.

The initiative involves posting and displaying educational posters and leaflets covering Republic Act No. 11313 (Safe Spaces Act or Bawal Bastos Law), RA No. 7877 (Anti Sexual Harassment Act), RA No. 11648 (Anti Red Tape Law), RA No. 9262 (Anti VAWC Act), and RA No. 9710 (Magna Carta of Women). These materials aim to educate commuters about their rights and promote gender sensitivity in public transportation.

Information materials were posted and distributed across several LRT Line 2 stations to expand public awareness. These stations include Recto, Legarda, Pureza, V. Mapa, Antipolo, Marikina Pasig, Araneta Center Cubao, and Anonas, where commuters can easily access the displayed materials.
“This partnership reinforces our commitment to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive commuting environment for all LRT Line 2 passengers,” said LRTA Administrator Hernando Cabrera. “We want every commuter to know their rights and understand that gender based harassment has no place in our rail system.”

The initiative aligns with LRTA’s vision to be the leading authority for the construction, operations, and maintenance of LRT systems which enable safe, comfortable, and sustainable transportation.
