The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) has successfully completed its 10th batch of records disposal, a milestone that underscores its steadfast commitment to responsible records management, institutional integrity, and public accountability.
LRTA continues to uphold national regulations, internal control standards, and archival best practices in the management of official records. Administrative, financial, and operational documents are systematically handled in accordance with retention schedules, disposal protocols, and data protection mandates. This ensures compliance while reinforcing LRTA’s role as a transparent and accountable government entity.
On 16 February 2026, LRTA submitted its Request for Authority to Dispose of Records (NAP Form No. 3) to the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP). The request covered a wide range of records—including correspondence, gate passes, logbooks, reports, and procurement files—that had reached their prescribed retention periods.

Following evaluation, NAP issued Authority No. A-2026-560 on 6 March 2026, certifying that the records were no longer needed and not connected to any administrative or judicial cases. The approved mode of disposal was Sale, with LRTA availing the services of NAP’s official buyer, D’ Lacoste Enterprise.
The disposal process strictly adheres to NAP General Circular No. 5 (2023), requiring the presence of representatives from NAP, the Commission on Audit (COA), and LRTA during the actual disposal. Records Officers and custodians are tasked with safeguarding the documents until their final disposal.
The activity reflects LRTA’s proactive stance in eliminating unnecessary documents, reducing storage costs, and preserving institutional memory. By responsibly managing the records lifecycle, LRTA continues to demonstrate its role as a model government agency committed to efficiency, compliance, and public trust.
