The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) officially began livestreaming its Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) procurement proceedings today, November 18, marking a significant milestone in promoting transparency and transparent public service.

The inaugural livestream was held on LRTA’s official Facebook page and showcased the Submission and Opening of Bids for various rolling stock air-conditioning units and brake operating units for the LRT Line 2 system.

This initiative supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to foster open, accountable, and participatory governance. By offering real-time access to procurement activities, LRTA aims to enhance transparency, strengthen public trust, and ensure accountability in its processes.

“Livestreaming our bidding activities allows the public to observe procurement proceedings firsthand, thereby improving transparency and accountability,” said LRTA Administrator Hernando T. Cabrera.

Future livestreams of BAC proceedings will be held regularly. LRTA will announce upcoming schedules and details via its official channels.
