The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) joined the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in launching an aid caravan to help communities in Cebu and Masbate affected by recent natural disasters on Sunday, Oct 05, 2025.

The PCSO Aid Caravan, which departed from the LRT-2 Santolan Station, delivered over ₱50 million worth of relief goods and medical supplies. The Cebu team brought three PCSO buses, 11 patient transport vehicles, and five MMDA dump trucks, while the Masbate group deployed six wing vans and one PTV. The mission carried more than 18,000 Charitimba packs, 4,000 evacuation kits, 664 boxes of medicines, and other essential items.
In a joint statement, PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles, MMDA Chairman Romando Artes, and LRTA Administrator Hernando Cabrera said the initiative reflects the spirit of bayanihan and shared responsibility in times of disaster.

Administrator Cabrera added that donation boxes will be placed in all LRT-2 stations to gather support for affected families. “This allows our passengers to take part in helping our kababayans in Cebu and Masbate. Every small act of kindness counts,” he said.
Through this partnership, LRTA continues to show that public service goes beyond transport operations, extending compassion and solidarity to those in need.
