The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), through its Gender and Development (GAD) Committee, successfully conducted a Seminar-Workshop on the Analysis and Use of Sex-Disaggregated Data (SDD) and Gender Statistics on 30 July 2026 via the Zoom platform. The virtual activity provided an accessible and interactive venue for learning and collaboration among participants.

A total of 18 GAD Committee members participated in the seminar-workshop, consisting of 6 male and 12 female attendees.

The activity featured Dr. Rowena S. Navera as the resource speaker, who shared her expertise on the importance of collecting, analyzing, and utilizing sex-disaggregated data and gender statistics in organizational planning, policy development, and decision-making. Through her insightful discussions and practical exercises, participants enhanced their understanding of how to interpret sex-disaggregated data, identify gender gaps and disparities, and translate statistical findings into evidence-based programs and initiatives.

The seminar-workshop also emphasized the critical role of sex-disaggregated data and gender statistics in strengthening Gender and Development (GAD) planning, monitoring, and evaluation. By equipping participants with the necessary analytical tools and methodologies, the activity supports the development of more responsive, inclusive, and gender-sensitive policies and programs within the organization.

The activity reaffirmed LRTA’s commitment to mainstreaming Gender and Development (GAD) principles across its operations and promoting a workplace that values equality, inclusivity, and evidence-based governance. Through continuous capacity-building initiatives, LRTA remains steadfast in empowering its personnel to contribute to the advancement of gender-responsive public service and sustainable organizational development.
