The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), through its Gender and Development (GAD) Committee, conducted an LGBTQIA+ Inclusivity Training/Symposium on 23 June 2026, via a Zoom platform, participated by 31 participants (male:8, female:23). This initiative was designed to deepen awareness, strengthen advocacy, and promote a culture of respect and equality within the organization.

The training provided participants with valuable insights into the diverse experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community, highlighting the importance of inclusivity in both professional and social settings. Topics covered included understanding sexual orientation and gender identity, addressing stereotypes and biases, and fostering empathy and collaboration in the workplace.

This program reflects LRTA’s dedication to advancing gender and development initiatives, aligning with its broader mission to champion equality, inclusivity, and human rights. By investing in such training, the organization continues to strengthen its role as a progressive and socially responsible institution.
