The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) carried out its regular safety inspections of stations, depots, and maintenance facilities for April 2026 to ensure safe and reliable railway operations, in line with its Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP).
The activity was undertaken by trained and qualified LRTA personnel in accordance with established safety standards and regulations. The inspections covered key areas across the LRT Line 2 system, including structural conditions, safety systems, operational equipment, and emergency facilities.
Fire exits and emergency lighting were among the critical components inspected to ensure they were clearly marked, unobstructed, and fully functional, particularly during emergencies or power interruptions. Maintenance equipment and other essential operational tools were likewise examined to confirm their proper condition, availability, and serviceability. Any issues or deficiencies identified during the inspections were promptly recorded and addressed through appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Through this continuous inspection program, LRTA enhances its emergency preparedness, reduces the risk of service disruptions, and helps ensure the safety and security of passengers, personnel, and railway facilities.
This ongoing initiative reflects LRTA commitment to maintaining safe, reliable, and uninterrupted rail transport services for the riding public.
