The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) carried out its monthly fire safety inspections along the LRT Line 2 revenue line for April 2026, in line with its Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP).
The activity was conducted by designated LRTA safety personnel, aiming to ensure the operational readiness and dependability of critical fire and life safety systems located within stations and other operational areas.
Among the equipment inspected were fire extinguishers and fire hose cabinets, which were thoroughly checked for accessibility, completeness, and overall condition.
Fire extinguishers were examined to verify appropriate pressure levels, intact safety seals, and sound physical condition. Meanwhile, fire hose cabinets were assessed to ensure that hoses, valves, and related components were complete, readily accessible, and in proper working order.
All findings were recorded, and any deficiencies identified during the inspection were immediately endorsed for corrective action, including repair, replacement, or necessary maintenance.
By consistently implementing measures under the Public Service Continuity Plan, LRTA upholds its commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and resilient environment for passengers, personnel, and facilities across LRT Line 2.
LRTA likewise encourages passengers to stay alert and promptly report any safety-related concerns to station personnel, fostering shared responsibility in ensuring a safe and reliable public transport system.
