The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) conducted its regular fire safety inspections for September 2026 across the LRT Line 2 System to ensure the readiness and proper condition of fire protection equipment and other life safety provisions.
The inspection included fire extinguishers, fire hose cabinets, and other fire safety equipment located in stations and operational areas. Safety personnel checked the equipment for completeness, accessibility, physical condition, and serviceability.
Any concerns identified during the inspection were documented and endorsed to the appropriate offices for corrective action. The regular monitoring of fire protection equipment helps the LRTA identify potential deficiencies and address them before they could compromise emergency response capability.
The inspection forms part of the LRTA’s preventive safety and maintenance activities under its Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), supporting the continued readiness of critical fire and life safety systems throughout the railway network.
The LRTA continues to promote a culture of safety through regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and monitoring of emergency resources. Passengers and personnel are encouraged to remain alert and promptly report fire safety concerns to station personnel.
