The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) has completed its regular March 2026 safety inspections of stations, depots, and maintenance facilities of the LRT Line 2 System. This initiative supports ongoing commitment of LRTA to passenger safety, operational readiness, and service reliability. The same likewise coincides with the nationwide observance of Fire Prevention Month.

Led by Mr. Jimmy L. Chua, Manager of the Safety and Security Division (SSD), the inspections focused on critical areas of the LRT Line 2 System, including the structural integrity of stations and facilities, the functionality of safety and security systems, the condition of operational and maintenance equipment, and the availability and readiness of emergency and fire safety facilities.

These inspections align with the LRTA Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), particularly Section XIII, which mandates regular inspections and functional assessments of essential infrastructure and systems.

By performing these safety inspections, LRTA enhances its emergency preparedness, mitigates the risk of service disruptions, and protects passengers, employees, and railway assets—fostering constant awareness and readiness.
