The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) conducted its regular safety inspections of stations, depots, and maintenance facilities for February 2026 as part of its continuing efforts to ensure passenger safety, operational readiness, and service reliability.

The activity was spearheaded by Mr. Jimmy L. Chua, Manager of the Safety and Security Division (SSD), and covered comprehensive inspections of key areas across the LRT Line 2 system, including structural conditions, safety systems, operational equipment, and emergency facilities.

The inspections were carried out in accordance with the agency’s Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), particularly Section XIII on Testing and Maintenance of the Plan, which mandates the regular conduct of inspections and functional assessments to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of critical infrastructure and systems.

Through regular inspection, LRTA strengthens its emergency preparedness, minimizes potential service disruptions, and helps ensure the safety and security of passengers, employees, and railway assets.
