The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) regularly conducts monthly fire safety inspections along the LRT Line 2 revenue line in line with its Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), particularly Page 198, Section XIII on Testing and Maintenance of the Plan.
The regular inspections, conducted by LRTA safety personnel, focus on ensuring the readiness and reliability of essential fire and life safety facilities within stations and operational areas. These include fire extinguishers and fire hose cabinets, which are carefully examined for proper condition, accessibility, and completeness.
Fire extinguishers are checked to ensure correct pressure levels, intact safety seals, and good physical condition, while fire hose cabinets are inspected to confirm that hoses and components are complete, accessible, and in serviceable condition.
Any issues or deficiencies identified during the inspection are immediately documented and referred for appropriate corrective action, such as repair, replacement, or servicing. This proactive and systematic approach helps ensure preparedness during emergencies and supports the safe and uninterrupted operation of the railway.
Through the consistent implementation of its Public Service Continuity Plan, LRTA remains committed to providing a safe, secure, and resilient transport system for passengers, employees, and facilities along LRT Line 2.
LRTA encourages passengers to remain vigilant and to immediately report any safety concerns to station personnel, reinforcing shared responsibility in maintaining a safe mass transit environment.
