The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) has completed its monthly fire safety inspections of the LRT Line 2 System revenue line for March 2026, reinforcing its commitment to passenger safety, operational readiness, and reliable service.

Aligned with the nationwide observance of Fire Prevention Month, the inspections highlighted the importance of fire safety awareness and preparedness across all LRTA facilities.

Led by the Safety and Security Division (SSD), the activity covered the inspection and assessment of fire detection systems, fire suppression equipment, and emergency response tools installed in stations and other critical areas along the line.

These initiatives form part of proactive measures of LRTA to prevent fire-related incidents and ensure immediate response capability when needed.

The inspections were conducted in line with the LRTA Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), particularly Section XIII thereof on Testing and Maintenance of the Plan, which requires regular functional exercises and equipment checks to ensure reliability and operational effectiveness.

Through the consistent implementation of its safety and maintenance programs, LRTA reaffirms its commitment to providing a safe, secure, and resilient transport system for passengers, employees, and facilities of LRT Line 2 System.
