The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) conducted its monthly fire safety inspections along the LRT Line 2 revenue line for February 2026 as part of its continuing efforts to ensure passenger safety, operational readiness, and service reliability.

The activity, led by the Safety and Security Division (SSD), covered the inspection and assessment of fire detection, suppression, and emergency response equipment installed across stations and other critical areas of the line. The initiative forms part of LRTA’s proactive measures to prevent fire-related incidents and ensure immediate response capability when needed.

The inspections were carried out in accordance with the agency’s Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), particularly Section XIII on Testing and Maintenance of the Plan, which mandates the regular conduct of functional exercises and equipment checks to ensure reliability and operational effectiveness.

Through the consistent implementation of its safety and maintenance programs, LRTA reaffirms its commitment to providing a safe, secure, and resilient transport system for passengers, employees, and facilities along LRT Line 2. LRTA also encourages passengers to remain vigilant and to immediately report any safety concerns to station personnel, reinforcing shared responsibility in maintaining a safe and secure mass transit environment.
