The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) conducted a two-day mandatory drug testing activity for its officials, employees, and personnel on March 30 and 31, 2026. A total of 1,400 LRTA personnel participated in the activity.

The testing was held at the LRTA Line 2 Depot and at Professional & Technical Resource Center/Training Center Office at the Recto Station.

The activity is in compliance with existing government regulations and LRTA internal policies on maintaining a drug-free workplace.

LRTA Administrator Hernando Cabrera said the initiative reinforced the LRTA commitment to the safety of both its workforce and the riding public.

“This is not just a regulatory requirement. It is a concrete step toward a more reliable and orderly rail service,” Administrator Cabrera said.
