Fire safety requires constant vigilance to ensure passengers remain protected throughout their journey. As part of its continuing commitment to maintaining a safe railway environment, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) conducted its June fire safety inspections across LRT-2 stations and operational areas to verify that critical fire protection equipment remains operational and ready for use.

During the June inspection, designated safety personnel examined fire extinguishers, verifying proper pressure levels, intact safety seals, and overall physical condition. Fire hose cabinets were likewise inspected to confirm that hoses, valves, and other components were complete, accessible, and serviceable for emergency response.

The activity forms part of the LRTA’s Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), which requires the regular testing and maintenance of critical fire and life safety systems. Inspection findings are documented, and any deficiencies identified are immediately endorsed for repair, replacement, or other appropriate corrective action to sustain operational readiness.

Through regular inspections and preventive safety measures, the LRTA continues to strengthen its emergency preparedness and uphold its commitment to providing passengers with a safe, secure, and reliable railway system.
