The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) conducted its August safety inspections of stations, depot, and maintenance facilities across the LRT Line 2 System to help ensure that facilities, safety systems, and operational resources remain in proper condition.
These regular inspections support the LRTA’s preventive safety and maintenance programs and form part of the implementation of its Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP). Through continuous monitoring, potential issues can be addressed before they affect passenger safety, railway operations, or service continuity.
The inspections covered various facility components, emergency facilities, safety provisions, and operational equipment. Fire exits, emergency lighting, access areas, and other safety-related facilities were checked to verify that they were accessible, properly maintained, and ready for use when needed.
Maintenance equipment and other essential operational resources were also inspected to determine their condition, availability, and serviceability. Identified deficiencies were documented and endorsed to the concerned offices for appropriate corrective or preventive action.
The LRTA continues to strengthen its safety management practices through regular inspection and maintenance activities, supporting its commitment to provide safe, reliable, and continuous public transportation service.
