The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), through its Safety and Security Division (SSD), conducted its regular inspection of rescue and evacuation equipment across the LRT-2 System for August 2026 to ensure the continued readiness of essential emergency response resources.
The activity forms part of the LRTA’s continuing implementation of its Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), particularly the measures concerning the regular testing, inspection, and maintenance of emergency response resources.
The inspection covered the condition, completeness, accessibility, and serviceability of rescue and evacuation equipment maintained at various LRT-2 facilities. Safety personnel checked the equipment and documented any deficiencies or concerns identified during the activity.
After the inspection, findings were properly recorded and endorsed to the concerned offices for appropriate corrective or preventive action. This regular monitoring enables the LRTA to address equipment deficiencies at the earliest opportunity and ensure that emergency resources remain readily available when required.
Through sustained inspection and preventive safety measures, the LRTA continues to strengthen its emergency preparedness and response capability while protecting passengers, personnel, facilities, and railway assets.
