The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) successfully completed the replacement of defective tower lighting fixtures at the LRT Line 2 Depot Stabling Area, marking another step to improve depot operations and working conditions.

A total of 60 tower lights were installed with LED lighting fixtures as part of the project. The upgrade ensures proper illumination across the stabling area, enhances productivity, and supports safer and more efficient maintenance activities for personnel, especially during night operations.

Previously, the LRTA utilized conventional halogen bulb lighting for its depot tower fixtures. These bulbs consumed more electricity and required frequent replacement due to shorter service life. The shift to LED lighting provides a longer lifespan, lower power consumption, and more stable illumination, resulting in reduced maintenance costs and improved energy efficiency.

The project reflects LRTA’s mission to enhance people mobility and provide a world class light rail transport system that is sensitive, inclusive, and committed to service excellence.
