The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced that the sewage ejector pump system at LRT Line 2 Katipunan Station has been fully restored and reinforced.

As part of the maintenance program, LRTA strengthened the Katipunan Station sewage system by acquiring brand-new pump units as spares and rewinding existing units for reinstallation, completing the works on February 4, 2026. With these measures, the station now has fully operational pumps, a reliable backup system, and spare units ready for immediate use. The Maintenance Transition Team worked closely with the procured service provider to install and test all units, restoring full operation of the system.

The restoration and upgrade of the sewage system have stabilized wastewater operations at the station, enhancing sanitation and facility reliability for passengers and station personnel.

LRTA continues to implement coordinated maintenance and system improvement efforts across the LRT-2 network to ensure safe, clean, and dependable service for the riding public.
