The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) completed its September safety inspections of LRT-2 stations, depot, and maintenance facilities to ensure that essential infrastructure, safety provisions, and operational resources remain suitable for safe railway operations.

The inspections covered facility conditions, safety systems, emergency facilities, and operational equipment. Safety personnel checked fire exits, emergency lighting, access areas, and other safety-related provisions to ensure that they were clearly identified, accessible, and functional.

Maintenance equipment and other essential operational resources were likewise assessed for their availability and serviceability. Any deficiencies identified during the inspection were documented and referred to the concerned offices for appropriate corrective or preventive action.

Regular facility inspections form part of the LRTA’s continuing preventive safety program and support the implementation of the Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP). These activities allow potential safety and operational concerns to be identified early and addressed accordingly.

Through continuous inspection, monitoring, and maintenance, the LRTA continues to strengthen the safety and operational readiness of the LRT-2 System and uphold its commitment to providing safe, reliable, and continuous public transportation service.
