The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) completed its July inspections of stations, depots, and maintenance facilities across the LRT Line 2 System to ensure that key infrastructure, safety systems, and operational equipment remain in proper condition to support safe and reliable railway operations.

The inspections covered structural components, operational equipment, safety systems, and emergency facilities. Fire exits and emergency lighting were checked to ensure they were clearly marked, unobstructed, and functional. Maintenance equipment and other essential operational tools were also inspected to verify their condition, availability, and serviceability.

Any deficiencies identified during the inspections were documented and endorsed to the concerned offices for appropriate corrective and preventive action. Regular inspections allow the LRTA to address potential issues before they affect railway operations, passenger safety, or service continuity.

The activity forms part of the LRTA’s Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), which provides for the regular assessment and maintenance of facilities critical to railway operations. These inspections support the agency’s preventive maintenance efforts and help sustain operational readiness across the LRT-2 system.

The LRTA continues to conduct regular inspections and maintenance activities to ensure the readiness of its facilities and equipment. Through these measures, the agency strengthens its capacity to provide safe, reliable, and continuous public transport service while protecting passengers, personnel, and railway assets.
