The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) completed its July inspection of rescue and evacuation equipment across the LRT-2 System as part of its continuing efforts to ensure the readiness of critical resources during emergencies.
Personnel from Safety and Security Division inspected the equipment to check its operational condition, completeness, and serviceability. Any concerns identified during the inspection were documented and endorsed to the concerned offices for appropriate corrective action.

The regular inspection is part of the LRTA preventive safety measures and helps ensure that rescue and evacuation equipment remains available and functional when needed. It also allows the agency to monitor the condition of emergency resources and address potential deficiencies before they affect emergency response operations.
The activity is implemented under the LRTA’s Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), particularly Section XIII, which provides for the regular testing and maintenance of emergency response resources. Compliance with these measures supports the agency’s preparedness for unforeseen incidents and helps maintain the continuity of railway operations.
Through regular inspections and preventive maintenance, the LRTA continues to strengthen its emergency response capability and uphold the safety of passengers, personnel, and railway assets. These measures form part of the agency’s continuing efforts to provide a safe, reliable, and resilient LRT Line 2 System.
