The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) completed its July fire safety inspections across LRT-2 stations and operational areas to ensure that critical fire protection equipment remains operational, accessible, and ready for use during emergencies.

Designated safety personnel inspected fire extinguishers to verify proper pressure levels, intact safety seals, and overall physical condition. Fire hose cabinets were also checked to ensure that hoses, valves, and other components were complete, accessible, and serviceable.

The regular inspections allow the LRTA to identify potential deficiencies in fire protection equipment and have them addressed before they could affect emergency response. Inspection findings are documented and endorsed to the concerned offices for repair, replacement, or other appropriate corrective action.

The activity forms part of the LRTA’s Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), which provides for the regular testing and maintenance of critical fire and life safety systems. These measures help ensure that the LRT-2 system remains prepared to respond to fire-related incidents and other emergencies.

The LRTA continues to conduct regular safety inspections and preventive maintenance activities to protect passengers, personnel, and railway facilities. The agency also reminds passengers to remain vigilant and report safety concerns to station personnel to help maintain a safe and secure railway environment.
