The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) completed its regular fire safety inspections for August 2026 across the LRT Line 2 System to ensure that fire protection equipment and life safety facilities remain functional, accessible, and ready for emergency use.

The inspection is part of the LRTA’s continuing safety and preventive maintenance efforts under its Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), which supports the regular assessment and maintenance of critical fire and life safety resources.

Safety personnel inspected fire extinguishers, fire hose cabinets, and other fire protection provisions within the stations and operational areas. The inspection focused on the physical condition, accessibility, completeness, and serviceability of the equipment.

Any deficiencies observed during the inspection were documented and endorsed to the concerned offices for appropriate action, including repair, replacement, or other necessary corrective measures. Regular inspection allows potential fire safety concerns to be identified and addressed before they may affect emergency response operations.

The LRTA remains committed to maintaining a safe railway environment by conducting regular fire safety inspections and ensuring that emergency equipment is available and ready for use. Passengers and personnel are likewise encouraged to remain vigilant and immediately report safety concerns to station personnel.
