The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) recognized the invaluable contributions of its Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System (GFPS) Committee members during the flag-raising ceremony held on October 27, 2025, at the Line 2 Depot in Santolan, Pasig City. Each member received a Certificate of Commendation for their active participation and dedicated service in advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment within the authority.
The commendation was given in light of the recent recognition from the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), where LRTA ranked 10th among Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) with the Highest Client-Focused 2024 GAD Budget Expenditure. This milestone underscores the LRTA commitment to gender-responsive budgeting and inclusive governance in the public transport sector.
Administrator Atty. Hernando T. Cabrera, who also serves as GAD Champion and GFPS Committee Chairperson, lauded the committee’s efforts, emphasizing their vital role in promoting inclusive and responsive public service. “Our GAD Committee has shown how dedication and teamwork can turn gender principles into real action,” Cabrera said. “I hope their dedication inspires everyone to continue supporting efforts that promote equality and good public service.”
Through this recognition, the LRTA reaffirms its commitment to strengthening gender equality initiatives and continues building a safe, accessible, and empowering transport environment for passengers.
