As part of its continued commitment to workplace safety, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) recently conducted an online ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSHMS) Awareness Training for its personnel on February 18, 23, 24, & 26, 2026. This initiative was undertaken in preparation for the upcoming 3rd Party Surveillance Audit as LRTA works toward certification under ISO 45001.

A total of 1,071 LRTA personnel participated across four batches, learning about occupational safety and health principles, the salient features of JMC No. 01, s. 2020, hazard identification, risk control, and the critical roles of leadership and worker participation in maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. The training was facilitated by Mr. Lawrence C. Malubay, LRTA OSH Consultant.

This program highlights LRTA’s commitment to safety and audit readiness while fostering a strong safety culture across the organization.
