The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) reminds commuters that foldable bicycles are welcome on LRT Line 2 trains, making it easier to combine cycling with rail travel. This aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure a commuter-friendly transport system for Filipinos.
Folding bikes and e-scooters must be placed at the rear section of the last coach. Each train can accommodate up to five folding bikes, and only bikes with wheel sizes up to 20 inches are permitted. Folding bikes or e-scooters must be securely folded and must not obstruct other commuters.
Bike racks for full-size bikes and folding bikes are also available at select LRT Line 2 stations for those who prefer to park their bikes before boarding the train.
LRTA Administrator Hernando T. Cabrera also emphasized the Authority’s continuing efforts to support cyclists. “Through our Mobility Inclusivity and Accessibility Committee, we continuously work with the Department of Transportation and our stakeholders to ensure active and inclusive railway transport,” Cabrera said.
This ongoing initiative underscores LRTA mission to enhance people mobility and provide world world-class light rail transport system that is sensitive, inclusive, and committed to service excellence.
