The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), through its Gender and Development (GAD) Committee, successfully conducted a Gender Sensitivity Training (GST) on 24 April 2025 at the Social Hall, Line 2 Depot, Santolan, Pasig City, with the participation of 56 participants (male: 21, female: 35). The activity forms part of LRTA’s continuing efforts to foster a gender-responsive, inclusive, and respectful workplace environment.

The training aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of key gender concepts, promote awareness of gender equality and women’s rights, and strengthen appreciation of diversity in the workplace. It also emphasized the importance of creating safe spaces and upholding respect, professionalism, and non-discrimination among employees.

During the session, participants were oriented on topics such as gender roles and stereotypes, gender-based discrimination, and relevant laws and policies that protect the rights of all individuals. The discussion encouraged open dialogue and reflection, allowing LRTA personnel to gain deeper insights into how gender sensitivity contributes to a positive organizational culture and improved public service delivery.

The activity reinforced LRTA’s commitment to mainstreaming gender and development principles across its operations and ensuring that employees are equipped with the knowledge and values necessary to support equality and inclusivity within the organization.
Through initiatives such as the Gender Sensitivity Training, LRTA continues to uphold its mandate of promoting gender-responsive governance and building a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered.
