
The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) has received a letter of appreciation from the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) recognizing its support for the implementation of the “Libreng Sakay” program in celebration of International Human Rights Day on December 10, 2025. The recognition was conveyed in a letter dated January 5, 2026, addressed to LRTA Administrator Atty. Hernando T. Cabrera.
CHR commended LRTA for facilitating free train rides on LRT Line 2 during the observance. The initiative provided free rides to commuters from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., helping ensure accessible and inclusive transportation for the public.
The LRTA continues to stand in solidarity with programs and initiatives that promote the rights, dignity, and welfare of the public, reaffirming its commitment to providing safe, inclusive, and people-centered public transportation.
