

As part of its continuing operational readiness initiatives, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) conducted the 1st Quarter Refresher Course for the Traffic Control Division personnel, with a total of 29 participants, on February 18–19, 2026, at the OCC Viewing Room.

This quarter’s refresher focused on Work Instruction 2017.WI.TC2.018 – Passenger Evacuation Inside the Station, reinforcing proper procedures and coordinated response during emergency situations. The activity forms part of the Exercise and Testing Plan under the approved LRTA Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), ensuring personnel are prepared to effectively manage service disruptions and safeguard passenger safety.
The session also provided awareness on the LRTA Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), highlighting its objectives, framework, and the critical roles of personnel in maintaining service continuity during emergencies and unforeseen events.
The refresher course was conducted by Engr. Merlo G. Gallardo, OIC of the Traffic Control Division and Technical Resource Person.
This initiative aims to develop LRTA employees’ competencies under ISO 9001:2015 QMS and to cascade related procedures, work instructions, and policies.
