A total of 12,516 passengers of LRT Line 2 were granted free rides on February 14, 2026 in celebration of the 31st anniversary of Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and in support of National Health Insurance Month this February.
The free ride program was implemented from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Passengers who availed of the initiative were required to present a physical or digital valid PhilHealth ID. Commuters were likewise reminded to strictly observe the designated free ride hours, use only the designated gates, and ensure that they exited the station within the prescribed time to avoid penalties. All passengers underwent standard security checks.
The initiative forms part of the continuing collaboration between the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) and PhilHealth in advancing public welfare programs that directly benefit commuters. Through this activity, thousands of passengers were able to enjoy safe, convenient, and cost-free travel while commemorating PhilHealth’s milestone year.
LRTA remains committed to providing safe, reliable, and passenger-focused service.
