The LRT Line 1 Modernization Phase II-Project  

Modernization and Upgrading of Existing BN ACEC LRVs

OBJECTIVE:                           

To fully modernize the 32 LRV's of Phase I by replacing the old contactors, refurbish relay panel and miniature circuit breakers, and cleaning the chopper box, and also to modernize the remaining yet to be rehabilitated 31 LRV's that were not covered by the initial phase of the modernization program, procure additional spare parts in order to ensure the lifetime of the rolling stock for another 15 years and guarantee the income stream of LRTA.

Note:   The negative slippage was due to the hard to find parts to normalize the down BN LRV's which have been unoperational for more than 5 years.  This is beyond the control of the contractor because the said list of parts is not given in the supplemental contract but to be determined by the end user and to submit to PMO for endorsement to the administrator for approval.

 

However, since the sourcing of the last list of the Normalization parts is open ended time activity.  LRTA decided to just charge the cost of the remaining parts to the corporate funds because the contract period will be ended and this supersedes the March report.
